  I really want to give no stars but I can't post with out giving at least 1. The office staff is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I have been a patient of the Dr for over 12 years at the Newport News office and I have never been treated so rudely by the staff. I called they asked me for my birth date and instead of asking for my last name they called me by someone else's name (suppose they didn't want me to know they were a patient!) . I rescheduled an appointment and they kept sending me notices and calling me telling me that I missed my appointment and there is a fee for missed appointments, even after 3 conversations. I had a procedure done and the nurse said they would call to schedule a follow-up when the results came in, that NEVER happened! Then when I called the staff that answered was horrible! The first lady lackadaisically said "well its lunchtime and people are scarce around here but lemme see who I can find". Then the person she found asked me in a challenging tone if I checked out after my procedure "cause if you checked out they would have told you to schedule a follow-up" completely RUDE. So I asked to speak with the Office Manager and she put me on hold for 6.5 mins! So glad ANTHEM cut them loose! Never GOING BACK AGAIN. Ladies please choose a doctor with a professional staff!

  I would like to not give them a star at all. I called today 8/04/2016 at 3:34pm to see if they were taking new patients. Optima Health gave me a list of providers that take Optima and they have five OB/Gyn's that are listed. When the operator answered she asked whether I had Optima through an Employer or the Government. I asked her why that was important which she stated that they ask because they aren't taking new patients with a Government insurance. I hung up and spoke to Optima to explain what I was just told. Optima let me know that they shouldn't be asking that nor should they have denied me. I called back at 3:42pm to ask the same question and see who was giving this information again (Optima wanted to know). The same person answered the phone and lied to me by saying her name was Sally. I asked "Sally" who her supervisor was and she said "Sandra". I asked her to get Sandra for me. At this moment she put me on hold without saying a thing and I proceeded to be placed on hold for at least five minutes!!! (The call was 7 minutes long). I decided to drive down to the office myself and speak to "Sandra". When I got there I spoke to the receptionist and told her if there was a "Sally" who works there. She said no. I asked was there a "Sandra", she said yes. I asked her to go get her. Long story short both Sandra and Bernice Vazquez (Practice Administrator) denied such a call even took place!!!!! I offered to show them my phone and they didn't want to see it (of course). All they kept repeating was that they don't have a Sally there and that they only ask what type of insurance to see what they can offer. I told them repeatedly that the person whatever her name could be told me twice they would not accept new patience that have Optima through the government (ObamaCare). I let them know that it was discrimination what they were doing and that I was already filing a complaint through Optima for what they did. Their only concern was me keeping my voice down because there are other patients (waiting area was empty). They tried to give a fake apology which I wouldn't accept because they blatantly were calling me a liar. Now that I see other people have been treated the same based on the reviews I'm reading I am definitely going to take this further. It is ridiculous that they lie (they have an operator room where two ladies (the least) were answering phones, but they said anyone could have answered (I doubt it). Bernice was the worst and Sandra wasn't too far behind her, just not looking concerned at all, basically saying no one was going to admit to speaking to me or to what they told me. Essentially there is no culpability therefore no repercussions. I will see that word gets out on how they treat potential and from what I see current patients due to the type of insurance they might have.
